I am glad that my thoughts can be appreciated by those who are forced to endure reading them by Dr. Stranges C4C assignment! :)
When I was writing this blog post I was really torn because I like to embrace change, but I also like to hold on to the past just a little. It is sad to see libraries and many other things with fond childhood memories attached becoming obsolete, but, hey, progress has to happen sooner or later. I hope that by accepting and welcoming change, it will make us all better educators!
I wish you also all the best of wishes raising your two lovely children and your career as a teacher and an EDM310 student! :)
Thanks again.Carly Pughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03970808660406912537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423208180009140848.post-16806663880271136172011-03-23T14:55:39.481-07:002011-03-23T14:55:39.481-07:00Carly, thank you for sharing your thoughts on blog...Carly, thank you for sharing your thoughts on blog post # 8. I am so glad that you discussed the use of a library and just feeling the paper of a book in your hands. That is how I grew up, going to the library, using the card catalog and checking out books. My children will probably never do that in a public library. They have a small library in school but nothing like I had as a child. But I can imagine in just a few short years libraries may become a thing of the past. I do like the options technology has brought to the world of books and it will be much better for the environment in the long run. It is also so nice to be able to sit at home and do research and read books instantly.
I agree with you on the "Chipper Series" it is all about procrastination. This is a tough class and you cannot afford to procrastinate. You might not every catch back up.
Isn't amazing how children now days are so technology literate. I have a 7 and 3 year old and they can easily use our home computers, use iPods and each have their own gaming systems. I just hope that one day soon our school systems and teachers can become just as technologically literate. If not we are going to loose touch with our future students easily because they will be so bored when they have more exciting interactive things to do outside of the classroom.
David Pink's article was very interesting. I really liked your take on it too.
That is a article that we can remember and apply in the classroom one day in how we determine to motivate our students.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us, I really enjoyed reading them. I wish you the best in your teaching career and in EDM 310!

Olivia BushOlivia Bushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06410227500473746567noreply@blogger.com
